Head Coach: Barry Rose
Head Coach Barry Rose is entering his first year at Wakeland High School. Coach Rose has coached high school baseball for 13 years in the North Texas area. Previously he was the head coach of the Cardinals at MacArthur High School in Irving and guided them to the 5A playoffs for the first time since 1987. Rose was also head coach at Haltom High School for 3 years and also the head coach at Rusk High School for one season. Rose has also been an assistant coach at the high school level for Newman Smith, Irving, and Denton High Schools.
In the summers, Rose coaches the Coppell Copperheads of the Texas Collegiate League. He served 2 years as the assistant coach of the Copperheads and helped guide them to the winning their 3rd title in 6 years last August. In the summer of 2010 he will be serving as the head coach of the Copperheads.
Barry is a native of Coppell, TX, where he played 4 years under Coach Dave Curliss from 1989-1992. Following high school, Coach Rose played baseball at Lon Morris Junior College in Jacksonville, TX. After playing there he graduated from the University of North Texas ('97) in Denton.
Coach Rose has been married to his beautiful wife Jessi for 9 years and has 2 sons, Barrett (8) and Mac (5). They have lived in Flower Mound for the past 9 years.
