Supporting Our Athletes
The Wolverine Club stands ready to support our Athletes! We have been busy this summer filling volunteer positions and planning in order to give our athletes and coaches the support they need to be successful! The Club has been working with the True Blue Moms as they plan for a great football season. Our Parent Liaison has been working with Volleyball and Cross Country Parent Team Representatives to make sure that these athletes also get the support they need. If you are a parent of any of our athletes and want to get involved, please send Lindsi Hoffman an email at lindsihoffman@hotmail.com and she will direct you to the right person so you can let your talent shine! Lindsi will be reaching out to winter and spring sport Parent Team Representatives to help in the planning process once the new school year starts.
Wakeland High School Sponsors
As you know, raising funds to support our players is one of the most critical things that we do. Wakeland is unique as we have One Club for all sports. Sponsorship in athletics helps to support the Coaches as they make improvements to our athletic program. It will assist with supplement the needs of our athletes. The Wakeland Wolverine Club is also offering students, parents, and relatives’ an opportunity to show their support by placing a “Spirit Ad” in the 2010-2011 Fall Program which will be sold at Wakeland’s Homecoming Game (9/17/10) and Parent Night (11/4/10). Show support for your favorite athlete, band member, son / daughter, boyfriend / girlfriend, or get together with a group of your friends to capture a memory of your High School years. New and Improved Communication
We’ve been busy updating and improving your website. We hope you find it easy to use and informative. Please visit regularly as we will be highlighting coaches’ comments, providing updates on recent events and links to Wolverines in the news. We also plan on sending out e-mail communication on upcoming events. Wolverine Club meetings will start again once the fall seasons get underway and we look forward to seeing you there!
Volunteers
How can you help our Athletes? It can be as easy as joining our club. Click here to get our membership form. Besides treasure, we are always in need of your time and talent. One specific area where we need help is with the WESPYs. The WESPYs are the Wakeland Excellence in Sports Programming Yearly Awards, our version of ESPN’s annual awards program. The WESPY Chairman will coordinate the Awards Programs (WESPYs) for each season which includes the program itself (videos, awards, program production) as well as the reception.
Background Check - Anyone working around our students must have an approved background check on file with the district, annually. It takes about a week to get the results and the district lets the school secretary and receptionist know of an approved individual.
